Success isn’t solely defined by how we celebrate our wins—but rather how we respond to and learn from our setbacks. In the live event industry, mistakes aren’t an option, but they are inevitable. The key is to avoid missteps—by anticipating them, and planning for them through risk management to ensure when challenges do arise, they are resolved with minimal impact. Proper risk assessment and contingencies—are like an insurance policy you hope you never need, but if you do, suddenly, it’s like an event producers’ superpower!

Asking the often times uncomfortable “What if?” questions to identify and prepare for potential blind spots, is easily one of the best practices I’ve relied on for more than 15 years to mitigate risks and maintain near zero incident rates.
